CWB Firefighter Helpers

Camp White Branch Firefighter Help Needed

Each year Camp White Branch plays a major role in serving firefighters who manage the forest fires in the local area. Firefighters pitch tents in designated areas and the camp provides two meals and showers for a fee. This has been a great ministry for the camp and the funds have helped cover operating costs.

At times, the number of firefighters served can be quite large and since we don’t have prior notice on their arrival or how long they will be staying, it is difficult to find staff on short notice. We are hoping some of you might be willing to sign up for a few days or a week to serve at the camp. You would basically be on call and notified if your help is needed.

Dates Help Needed: July 1- Sept 30, 2020

Two Shifts per Day (2 person or a couple/shift):

  • 4:00 am – 10:00am
  • 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Volunteers can stay in one of the cabins or bring their RV if they prefer. Meals will be provided by the camp. We encourage you to eat with firefighters since this is a great opportunity for ministry and fellowship.

Typical Duties Performed: Prepare beverages, assist with meal prep, set up for dining, serve meals, cleaning, empty trash, sweep floors, and other basic cleaning.

If you have a current food handlers license and are willing to be on a call list, please let us know. This would ensure Leonard and Stacey are able to get some rest and days off.
